Limited Drop Event: The Number One Set

Our Number One Set is an exact recreation of the pickups set made famous by the inimitable Stevie Ray Vaughan. Pieced together from countless hours of research into what made his guitar tick the Number Ones feature Alnico V magnets and period correct Heavy Formvar pickup wire to nail the sound from Stevie’s ’59 Strat set. Blues on tap but no one trick pony, the Number Ones are also suitable to nail a huge variety of classic tones and offer beautiful touch sensitivity and the clarity to get those searing lead lines. Now all you’ll need is the hat – oh and maybe a set of 13s  if you can stomach the heavier strings!

Our Number Ones come with a set of our Vintage Knobs, Covers and Tips as standard (usually a £70 upgrade) and the ability to upgrade to Relic’ed and/or make it a loaded guard.

Please Note

If choosing ‘relic’ed, the pickups are then supplied with reliced plastics, polepieces and the height adjustment screws reliced as well. If choosing relic’ed and adding a loaded guard, the pickguard is then relic’ed too. If not choosing relic’ed for a set of pickups or the guard then your plastics will have the vintage look and hand bevelled appearance but with no wear. Our Relicing and Vintage Plastics work is now ONLY available via our Limited Drop Events like this one so you are in for a treat!

Drop Night Notes

For this ‘Drop’ we have tried our best to make all the options we think you would like available and here are some options to consider (detailed here for your perusal ahead of time as they are only visible when this becomes LIVE):

  • Option To Upgrade to a loaded pickguard +£100

  • Pickguard Colour Choices: (all 3 ply) White, Parchment, Vintage White, Black, Mint Green, Marbled Tortoiseshell

  • All loaded pickguard options include the following USA grade components: Switchcraft Jack, Oak Grigsby 5 Way switch, Paper in oil capacitor, CTS Pots, Gavitt Vintage Cloth Hook up wire

Delivery By default all of our pickups are shipped with Royal Mail who we find to be excellent both within the UK and Internationally. Their rates enable us to offer prices that are very reasonable for our customers and the timeframe is great for the vast majority of countries. We find that, once despatched, Royal Mail tend to take 1 working day within the UK, 2/3 working days within the EU, 4/5 working days to North America and Worldwide. These are guidelines and of course some countries differ and the level of ‘officiousness’ in customs departments differs massively worldwide. If ordering from a country which is notorious for taking a while to process imported goods (we can think of a few!) please build this into your expectation on the timeframe after despatch. How long will it take to make? As a small pickup maker handmaking within an extremely busy workshop we expect to complete all pickups sets within 16-20 working days (Relic’ed orders 5 days longer). We sometimes work quicker than those timeframes and we’ll always endeavour to finish your pickups as quick as we are able to of course. We can sometimes process a rush order if you have an upcoming, important concert or perhaps if you are buying for a relative’s birthday etc - feel free to message and we’ll always see what we can do.
