We are very proud to offer our Vintage ’62 Jazzmaster pickups set for all you offset guitar aficionados! The Jazzmaster pickup is a unique design within pickup history utilising a short height bobbin but with a coil spread very wide under its cover. Taking its tonal footprint from such a wide area gives it a sound unlike any other pickup design with the our ’62s offering a deep and warm tone with gorgeous character in the neck position and the bridge giving you unrivalled bite and twang. Coupled together in the middle position this set offers stunning clarity which shimmers with every polite (or impolite!) wobble of the vibrato arm. Whether you’re enjoying some classic Surf guitar or more modern styles of playing, the range of sounds on offer is hard to beat. Our ’62 Set features Alnico V polepieces and period correct 42 gauge Heavy Formvar wire to nail those classic JM tones perfectly.
We are heavily into the Jazzmaster in the Radioshop workshop at the moment having had a recent bout of JM modding fever. In the video below, Radioshop’s Paul Best gives a review of a lovely Jazzmaster we’ve acquired for workshop use and takes you through some mods which we think have improved the instrument no end. Plus there are some sounds at the end of the video of our ’62 Set in action. Enjoy and keep your eyes on further Jazzmaster developments from us in the near future as we’re working on something special and very new which (R&D time allowing!) will hopefully be coming in 2024 …
